Project Overview
A homeowner contacted us for land clearing and concrete foundation in Batavia, New York (Genesee County) after being referred by her neighbor. She wanted to turn a wooded area at the back of her property into usable space for a barn. The land was full of trees, and needed a full transformation. She needed a complete transformation that included land clearing and tree removal, site land grading, gravel driveway installation, and a concrete foundation for a new barn. How We Completed the Project

We started by removing several large trees, including two pines and multiple maples, along with their stumps. Logging equipment and forestry attachments helped us safely clear the marked trees while mulching the smaller shrubs and overgrowth. All stumps and leftover debris were pulled out and hauled away.

Site Grading and Drainage Prep
Once the lot was cleared, we brought in an excavator to grade and level the land. Grading allowed us to set proper slopes for drainage and prepare the area for gravel and clean fill.

Next, we prepped three sections of the property (30×30, 100×15, and 26×32 feet) for gravel. We delivered and installed 100 tons of #1 Crusher Run stone, spread it 4 inches thick, and compacted it to create a solid surface. This gave the homeowner both a driveway and a gravel base for the concrete pad foundation.

For the barn foundation, we installed a 26×32 concrete pad (832 sq. ft.). We built the gravel base with 4–6 inches of Crusher Run stone, then poured 13 yards of 4,250 psi concrete reinforced with fiber mesh and calcium. After finishing, the pad was left with a smooth, durable surface, ready for barn construction.

Clean Fill Delivery and Final Touches
We also delivered 70 yards of clean fill dirt, which we spread and graded over about 4,000 square feet around the cleared area. This helped level the ground, improve drainage, and create a clean look around the barn site.
