Gravel Driveway Repair Project in Brockport, Monroe County, New York
Project Overview
Our client in Brockport, New York (Monroe County) was looking for a gravel driveway repair contractor to fix his garage driveway that had almost turned into a mud path. With very little crushed stone left and two large potholes near the road, the driveway was not only rough to drive on but also starting to look unkept. He reached out to us wanting a solid, smooth driveway that could handle daily use and boost his property’s curb appeal.

How We Completed the Project
Site Plan

2-Inch Gravel Installation – The Touch-Up Option
We offered two gravel installation options to address different parts of the driveway. For the larger 900 square foot section, we repaired and prepared the surface to make it level and ready for new stone. We then delivered and applied 11 tons of #1 Crusher Run driveway stone. This was spread at 2 inches thick, graded, compacted, and rolled for a smooth finish.
4-Inch Gravel Installation – The Brand-New Option
The smaller 160 square foot section required a stronger foundation. Here, we applied a 4-inch layer of #1 Crusher Run stone (about 5 tons) after repairing and grading the base. The thicker layer provides extra durability for heavy use in that area. By combining both methods, we created a consistent and long-lasting gravel driveway across the entire property.

Project Insights
This project turned what was once a muddy, uneven driveway into a clean and durable gravel surface. With the combination of a 2-inch resurfacing and a 4-inch rebuild in problem areas, the property now has a driveway that looks sharp and is built to last.
If you’ve been dealing with potholes, standing water, or vegetation creeping into your driveway, repairs like this can make a big difference. For properties that also struggle with drainage due to surrounding elevations, solutions like culvert pipe installation, French drains, or drain tiles can be added to prevent water damage. Some homeowners also choose to go a step further with a concrete pad, sidewalk, or patio to keep outdoor areas cleaner and more stable year-round.
We’ve done similar gravel driveway repair projects across Monroe and Orleans Counties, including a gravel driveway repair project in Hilton, NY where we handled multiple potholes, and a gravel driveway refresher and concrete patio installation project in Lyndonville, NY, which gave the homeowner both a fresh driveway and a functional outdoor living space.
