Gravel Driveway Installation & Refresher Project in Medina, Orleans County, New York
Project Overview
Our client in Medina, New York (Orleans County) was looking for a driveway contractor to refresh and extend their gravel driveway. They heard about us through one of our job site signs and a DC Hauling team member. Their goal was to restore the old gravel driveway in front of their main garage and install a new gravel section for the adjacent garage creating a more complete and functional layout for parking and access. As you can see, the existing gravel driveway was already being taken over by grass.

How We Completed the Project
New Gravel Driveway Excavation and Preparation
We started in the section where there was no existing driveway. The area measured 1,050 sq. ft. We excavated the topsoil and graded the surface to create a clean and level base for the new crushed stones installation.
Existing Driveway Preparation
Next, we worked on the larger section, about 2,940 sq. ft., where an old driveway needed refresher. We removed the topsoil, grass, and any debris that had built up over time.
Stone Application and Compaction
A total of 44 tons of 5/8” Crusher Run driveway stone was delivered and applied across both areas. The gravel was laid at 2 inches thick, properly graded, compacted in place, and then rolled for a firm finish.

The difference is clear. Before, the driveway and its edges fade with grass encroached little by litte. Now, with both areas installed and refreshed, the gravel driveway looks clean. The edges are well-defined, and the new section creates a more spacious, seamless look across the whole frontage of the property.
