Project Overview

A homeowner reached out to us for creek excavation, ditching, and trenching services in Brockport, New York (Monroe County). This was not the first time we worked with this client — previously, we helped cut down a tree and delivered fill dirt to his property.

After dealing with ongoing erosion issues, he contacted us again, looking for a long-term solution. His main goal was to stop the creek from overflowing beyond its boundary and to restore proper flow. He also wanted the work completed as soon as possible to prevent further damage.

Here is the Existing Condition of the Property:

As shown in the photo, the creek had a noticeable dirt buildup on one side due to erosion over time. This raised area of dirt and rocks was pushing the water toward the opposite bank, causing the creek to lose its natural channel. During heavy rain, the water would rise and spill over into the grassy area, increasing the risk of flooding. Scattered rocks and debris were also disrupting the creek’s flow, which made it even more unstable.

How We Completed the Project

Creek Excavation and Boundary Grading

We started by excavating the dirt that had built up from erosion. This dirt buildup was then transferred to the opposite side of the creek to rebuild and reinforce the natural boundary.

Once the soil was moved, we re-shaped the creek bed with trenching to help guide the water flow. This step was crucial in making sure the water stayed within its channel instead of spilling out during heavy rains.

Project Insights

By reworking the creek, the homeowner now has a stronger, more controlled waterway that can handle rain without spilling over. This solution not only protects the grassy areas but also keeps the property from dealing with flooding and erosion damage down the line.

If you’ve got a creek or waterway on your property, keeping it maintained is just as important as maintaining your driveway or foundation. Proper excavation and trenching can save you from headaches caused by flooding, erosion, and drainage problems.

This project in Brockport is a perfect example of how creek excavation, ditching, and trenching can restore balance to a property. If you’re looking for the same results, check out our Excavation Services page and contact us today to request a quote.

We’ve done similar work in other towns as well from stabilizing a shoreline with large stones in Waterport, NY, to repairing driveways and drainage in Marion, NY, to building a long 1,850-foot gravel driveway that crossed multiple creeks in Hilton, NY. We’ve even taken on pond excavation projects like the one in Byron, NY, where instead of a creek, we reshaped and deepened a pond for better water control.

Along with these projects, we also provide culvert pipe installation for homeowners who want to create driveways across waterways, as well as land clearing services when trees or brush disrupt water flow.
