Concrete Patio Installation Project in Albion, Orleans County, New York
Project Overview
This project took us back to a repeat client in Albion, New York (Orleans County). A while back, we completed a gravel driveway and walkway installation at the front of the home. This time, the homeowner wanted to expand their outdoor space with a brand-new concrete patio. The main goal was to replace a plain grass area with a strong, low-maintenance surface that’s perfect for relaxing, entertaining, or setting up outdoor furniture.
Here is the Existing Condition of the Property:

How We Completed the Project
Excavation and Preparation
We started by excavating and forming the 750-square-foot patio area. To build a stable base, we supplied and installed 18 tons of #1 crusher run stone, spread at 4 inches thick. The stone was graded, compacted, and rolled to create a level foundation.

Concrete Pouring
Next, we poured 10 yards of 4,250 PSI concrete with reinforced fiber mesh, also 4 inches thick. This mix provides both strength and durability. We gave the patio a smooth finish, cut control joints, and removed the forms after curing to allow for proper expansion and prevent cracks.

Concrete Sealing
Two months later, we returned to apply our Ultra Clear Satin Acrylic Satin concrete sealer. Before sealing, we power washed the surface to ensure proper adhesion. The sealer not only enhanced the look but also provided long-term protection against wear and weather. With this treatment, the patio is easier to maintain and stays looking sharp for years to come.

Project Insights
The new concrete patio gave the homeowner a clean and functional outdoor space that’s perfect for gatherings or just enjoying a quiet evening outside. By sealing the surface, the patio is now more resistant to stains, moisture, and the freeze-thaw cycles we deal with here in Western New York.
If you’ve been thinking about creating an outdoor space that lasts, a concrete patio is a great choice. We’ve also helped other homeowners combine concrete with gravel for added function and curb appeal, like in our Gravel Driveway Refresher & Concrete Pad project in Lyndonville, NY. This example show how concrete and gravel together can transform properties, just like this Albion project.
