The site plan for this asphalt driveway project.
Asphalt Driveway Preparation & Gravel Pad Setup
We kicked off the project on April 22, 2025. The first step was to excavate the topsoil on the left side of the driveway for the expansion area. We also stripped some of the old stone from the existing crushed stone driveway to regrade the area. At the same time, we cleared the area from the gravel pad location where the garage will go.
Once the area was ready, we laid down geotextile fabric for the gravel pad to improve stability and prevent long-term shifting. Then we delivered and spread 20–30 tons of crushed stone across both the driveway and pad areas. Each layer was applied at 4–6 inches thick, carefully graded, compacted, and rolled.

Asphalt Paving
We came back on May 27, 2025, to check on the settled base, do a final touch-up on the grading, and prep the surface for paving. By May 30, 2025, everything was ready.
We brought in 20 tons of hot fine binder asphalt and paved the entire driveway surface at 3 inches thick. After spreading, we compacted and rolled it down to a finished thickness of 2 ½ inches. The result was a smooth, and professional-grade asphalt driveway ready for years of use.
