Gravel Driveway Repair Project in Bergen, New York (Genesee County)

Project Overview

Our client in Bergen, New York (Genesee County) was looking for a reliable gravel driveway contractor to bring new life to their existing driveway.

The goal was to restore the main driveway and shed area, both of which had become uneven and overrun with grass over time. The client also requested new gravel installation in front of the house for a better look and improved vehicle access.

We’ve worked on all kinds of gravel driveway projects like installing brand-new driveways on undeveloped land. But this one was different. The driveway was already in place, just showing signs of grass encroaching. That’s where our gravel recycling and restoration process really shines saving the client money and reusing what’s already there.

Just a reminder that you can save thousands by resurrecting stone that’s already in your driveway? Check out the blog to see how.

How We Completed the Project

SR3 Gravel Recycling and Driveway Restoration

We started by using our SR3 grading rake, a powerful skid steer attachment designed for gravel driveway restoration. This tool helped us recycle and remix the existing gravel base by loosening it up and redistributing it evenly across the driveway. The process removed ruts, and smoothed out the surface, giving it a brand-new look without wasting existing materials.

We carefully scraped off all the grass and weeds that had crept into the driveway. This included the strip of grass running along the center and the lawn edging in. This step helped us reclaim the full width of the original driveway and prevented future overgrowth.

We installed fresh layers of crusher run gravel in front of the home to expand the parking area and improve its durability and drainage. This section had minimal stone coverage before, so the new base made a big difference in function and appearance.
